If You Only Have Time for a Few...
Our Absolute Favorites!

Odette (Condesa)
Our favorite bakery. You really can’t go wrong, but Spencer’s favorite is the Kouign Amann Frambuesa (Raspberry Kouign-Amann).
Panadería Rosetta (Roma Norte)
Iconic CDMX bakery famous for its guava and ricotta roll.
Lázaro Focacceria (Roma Norte)
A tiny spot doing amazing pastries and sourdough focaccia sandwiches with a Mexican twist. Also Spencer’s favorite coffee.
Gala Panadería (Roma Norte)
Cool bakery hidden in the back of an apartment complex; gives speakeasy vibes.
Vulevu (Roma Norte)
A gorgeous French bakery doing modern takes on the classics. The guava cruffin and almond croissant are the moves.
SAN さん Matcha (Polanco)
Best matcha in the city.
Conejo Blanco Café (Roma Norte)
A cozy specialty coffee spot.
Cima Cafe (Polanco)
Great iced coffee to start your day.
Mi Compa Chava (Roma Norte)
A must go! Our favorite restaurant in Mexico City. Casual, lively, always packed and incredible seafood. Go for lunch and get there at 11:40 to be in the first seating. The grilled shrimp, birria fish quesadilla and tuna tostadas are insane.
Expendio de Maiz (Roma Norte)
You sit down and they just start bringing you incredible corn-based dishes until you tell them to stop. Weird, amazing, and such a fun experience. The Rubin family came here before anyone knew it. Some would say we put it on the map.
Le Once Mil (Roma Norte)
New hip taco restaurant with great tacos and even better vibes. Upgrade your tacos to the flour version.
El Compita Taqueria (Roma Norte)
A true hole-in-the-wall taco spot. The taco California is Lucy’s favorite.
Tacos El Vilsito (Narvarte)
An iconic late-night taco spot that operates out of an auto repair shop by day. Open from 1 pm to 5 am. Shoutout to Hannah and Drew for recommending it to us.
Fonda Margarita (Del Valle)
A legendary early-morning breakfast spot visited by Anthony Bourdain in 2009. No Reservations.
Pujol (Polanco)
One of Mexico City’s most iconic restaurants. Enrique Olvera’s globally famous tasting menu. Modern Mexican art on a plate.
Máximo Bistrot (Roma Norte)
A true farm-to-table restaurant serving French inspired dishes made with Mexican-grown ingredients. Casual yet chic.
Contramar (Roma Norte)
Iconic seafood restaurant and a quintessential Mexico City lunch; come for the tuna tostadas and the grilled fish split with red and green sauces.
Entremar (Polanco)
Sister restaurant to Contramar with the same incredible seafood classics.
Quintonil (Polanco)
Two Michelin stars for a reason - modern Mexican food using traditional ingredients in really creative ways.
An absolute must visit. His work is breathtaking. You need to book in advance!
Another Barragán masterpiece and arguably even more beautiful in person. Book in advance!
Frida Kahlo’s famous Blue House and the place where she was born, lived, worked, and died. Book tickets well in advance.
The crown jewel of Mexico City’s museums with an unbelievable collection of ancient Mexican art and artifacts.
Our favorite for contemporary art, with great rotating exhibitions.
You’ll recognize it instantly from its silver honeycomb façade. Carlos Slim’s private collection spans 30 centuries and includes the largest Rodin collection outside France.
